**Description**



**This full time position is located in Temple, Texas; however please expect receiving calls from a 952 number in case you are considered\\. Relocation assistance is not provided\\.**



We have positions available on 1st shift \\(07:30 am to 04:00 pm\\)



**Position Purpose**



At Cargill Animal Nutrition we provide customized animal nutrition solutions to customers across the Americas, Europe and Asia\\. The maintenance technician is a highly skilled position responsible for performing general preventative maintenance responsibilities\\. It will also entail having thorough knowledge around machinery, plant flow, scheduling repairs, housekeeping duties in the facility, safety, and training other associates in the plant\\. This position works cross\\-functionally with facility needs but reports directly to the maintenance supervisor\\.



**Principal Accountabilities**



+ Have a full knowledge of plant flow, understand how each piece of machinery works, be able to maintain them, and troubleshoot them\\.

+ Must be able to schedule repairs with minimal disruption of plant operations

+ Must be able to work independently with little supervision

+ Strong background in 480\\-volt \\(3\\) phase electrical systems, PLC programming, HMIs, & MCC control systems

+ Able to work in a team environment

+ Understand and execute on the facility's safety processes



Maintenance Duties:



+ Be responsible for prevenative maintenance of all machinery & equipment in the PM program

+ Check & repair the equipment issues reported by the operating units

+ Modify or build equipment upon instructions

+ Maintain the required parts inventory, tools, & maintenance logs per schedules set by management

+ Ability to work on platforms & dusty environments



Housekeeping Duties:



+ Sweep, clean up, & sanitize as needed after all repairs to prepare area for full operation

+ Maintain a clean shop, neat/organize parts & tools inventory

+ Repair all leaks in equipment to minimize loss of product



Safety Duties:



+ Abide by all OSHA and plant regulations

+ Follow all safety regulations regarding lockout/tagout, confined space permits, and the wearing & use of personal protective equipment

+ Maintain & monitor all safety and security devices on a regular basis

+ Assist operators in the safety care of their equipment



**Qualifications**



**Required:**



+ Right to work in the U\\.S\\. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third\\-party employer\\.

+ Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility\\.

+ Ability to lift a minimum 50 pounds\\.

+ Must be able to operate machinery\\.

+ Must be able to read/write English\\.

+ Basic computer skills\\.

+ Ability to work overtime\\.

+ Must be able to perform maintenance trades including electrical and mechanical maintenance



**Preferred:**



+ Forklift certifified

+ Experience with boilers, bucket elevators, & hammermills

+ Demonstrated ability to multi\\-task in a fast paced environment

+ Excellent mechanical & electrical aptitude

+ Able to perform maintenance trades including machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication, rigging systems, gearbox and bearing, maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems and hydraulic and pneumatic

+ Previous experience with MRO \\(Maintenance Repair Ops\\) and/or MRP \\(Material Requirement Planning\\)
